This might be the coolest web site I have found in a while. I’m truly blown away.

The following image is actually taken from a blog post that I did called Encouraging a lost person.

Updating to Update?

Published by Ben under Blogging, Tech

Some times in the blog realm people just update to update. I’ve been guilty of it too. My brother wrote a very good post about writing content for blogs. Even if your blog readership is small, keep writing good content and you will slowly build your readership. Aren’t all good things built slowly? Even the bible talks about gathering money little by little.

Tonight I’m headed to Spartanburg to hang out with friends of new and old. They are a bunch of solid Christian’s and that is a great way to spend your Friday night. Were eating food cooked by the wonderful Stacy and the enjoying a bible study/discussion group and worship too!

Lastly, I’ll leave you with a picture of you! This is the locations of you guys [the readers] for the past month!

Excuse the word “hell” but it’s worth it.

Emotion + Waiting Room

Published by Ben under General, Love, Prayers, Vision

Not the ER waiting room. Life’s waiting room. You’ve been there. I’m there.  Sitting, waiting, wishing, hoping, dreaming, praying…

The most stressed I’ve ever been in my life is where I am right now. Nothing in my life is concrete [my relationship with Jesus is, yes I agree]. I have no reason to get organized, no reason to get excited [except eternal life, yes I agree]. I’m looking forward to what is coming in my life but, it’s stressful when you have absolutely no idea what, who, how, where it is.

God is it so bad for me to ask for some insight? For some grounding.

I’m an idealist, I see what could be, I’m not sure I even can see what is. Tonight is about the closest I have ever been to that. I see an un-organized problem and I solve it. So Lord I ask that this evening you send your holy spirit upon me and give me rest. You would reassure me that everything is going to be alright. That you "would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain" [1 Chronicles  4:10].

Better is open rebuke than love that is hidden.

Meglio una riprensione aperta che un amore nascosto.

Proverbs 27:5

ChurchMarketingSucks.com

Published by Ben under Awesome, General

Blogging, I love it. I hope you do to. I’m back in Anderson this week and so I’ll be back to updating via Windows Live Writer. Sorry mac geeks, this app is just for us cool Windows folks. [I have Vista Ultimate and I love it!] It actually amazes me how many people in the church realm are not blogging, networking, and so forth.

I’d like to take a minute and introduce you to a blog that I found "through the grapevine". Church Marketing Sucks is a web site dedicated to from what I can tell un-sucking the church from sucking at marketing. [If you don't like the word suck, I apologize, but your vacuum cleaner, disposal, and even lawn mower... suck. Get over it.] It’s one of my must reads everyday and it is always insightful and it enlightens me on how we [the church] can better market Jesus Christ.

I see it like this, we have the best message, package, brand, and product that exist. Yet on the whole were terrible about getting the news out about eternal life, an incredible relationship with the author of love, creator of the universe… should I go on? Joshua Cody is the author of the posts and offers very insightful looks at marketing Jesus Christ. Lastly you won’t want to forget about Church Marketing Suck’ "Don’t Suck" page. It has wonderful resources on how you can improve your web sites, services, blogs, and over all marketing. Church Marketing Sucks’s has been known to ask for feedback so head over and participate in the comment discussion.

Lastly I’ll say this, if for one second you think that you don’t serve a creative God, you need to [A] check your pulse and [B] go take a trip to the Appalachian Mountains or Rocky Mountains this week and remember you do serve a VERY creative God.
